Our History
Krale’s journey spans more than 120 years of continuous growth, innovation, and dedication to the shooting sports community.
1901 – The Beginning
Krale was founded by Harm Krale as a firearms and ammunition business. From the very beginning, the company focused on supplying dependable firearms and quality ammunition while building lasting relationships with customers through honest service and expert knowledge.
1946 – Second Generation Leadership
Following the founder’s legacy, Egbert Krale assumed leadership of the company. Under his guidance, Krale continued expanding its reputation for producing high-quality ammunition while strengthening its position within the firearms industry.
1952 – First Major Expansion
Growing customer demand led to Krale’s first significant business expansion. The company increased its operational capacity while expanding its product selection to better serve hunters, competitive shooters, and firearm enthusiasts.
1971 – A Larger Location
As Krale continued to grow, the company relocated to a larger facility capable of supporting increasing inventory, improved customer service, and future business development.
1977 – A New Direction
The third generation of the Krale family took ownership when Harm Krale assumed leadership. Following the end of ammunition production, the business shifted its primary focus toward shooting sports equipment, firearms, airguns, and shooting accessories, laying the foundation for the modern Krale brand.
2007 – Entering E-Commerce
Recognizing the growing importance of online shopping, Krale launched its first webshop under the name Krale Schietsport.
2010 – Fourth Generation Growth
The fourth generation of the Krale family joined the business, continuing the company’s long-standing tradition of family ownership while supporting further expansion into international markets.
2014 – Serving Customers Worldwide

2018 – Modern Headquarters
To support its rapid growth, Krale relocated to its modern headquarters at Achthoevenweg 36 in Staphorst. The new location features a spacious showroom of approximately 1,400 square meters, offering one of Europe’s most comprehensive selections of firearms, airguns, hunting products, airsoft equipment, optics, and tactical accessories.
During the same year, Krale also launched a redesigned webshop with improved functionality, faster performance, enhanced navigation, and a better overall customer experience.
